ISTD Level 4 Diploma in Dance Education

Dupont Dance School is an ISTD approved dance centre to deliver the accredited revised DDE Qualification in Modern theatre dance and tap dance.

Dupont Dance is delighted to be offering the ISTD Level 4 Diploma in Dance Education (DDE) in Modern Theatre and Tap genres. The qualification is aimed at students who wish to gain a teaching qualification with one of the most recognised dance examination boards in the UK and Internationally.

The course Director and lecturer is Dr. Nathan James .

Dr. Nathan James is a Fellow and Examiner for the ISTD, a member of the Tap Faculty committee and part of the tap teaching team. He has been a member of the ISTD for 20 years and is experienced as a performer, teacher and lecturer at diploma, degree and post-graduate levels. He received a PhD in Dance from the University of Roehampton in March 2018.


Information, Content and Assessment

The qualification consists of 5-units which are outlined below, however dependent on previous qualifications you could be exempt from some of the units. The qualification takes between 18-months to 2- years to fully complete, and it is advised that you start with Units 1, 3 and 4 in the first year. The final year will encompass teaching practice and a psychology unit. Completion of the qualification is dependent on you passing the necessary examinations as devised and conducted by the ISTD.
